Theresa M. Lyons and Denise Flaim are the creative minds behind THE RIDGEBACK REGISTER. Founded by Theresa 14 years ago, this internationally circulated magazine was a finalist in the 2008 Dog Writers Association of America writing competition in the breed magazine category.

Most important, they are accomplished professionals who are dedicated to producing dog magazines that are as engrossing to read as they are beautiful to look at -- all at affordable rates, and with unparalleled customer service.

THERESA M. LYONS

A professional graphic artist and talented dog photographer, Theresa founded The Ridgeback Register 14 years ago, and made it synonymous with eye-catching design and stunning photography.

Theresa has been involved in the sport of dogs since 1990, when she began to show Golden Retrievers, Viszlas, Saint Bernards and, of course, Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Theresa is the co-creator, with her mentor, breeder-judge Alicia Hanna, of "The Standard's Image - The Form and Function of The Rhodesian Ridgeback," a seminar that has been presented at Westminster, two RRCUS National Specialties, two Ridgeback World Congresses and several all-breed clubs. It will be published in book form in 2010.

Under the Kimani prefix, Theresa has co-bred, shown and championed many Ridgebacks, and is the co-owner of multiple Westminster and National Specialty winners.

A proud U.S. Marine, Theresa is a member of the John Basilone Parade Committee, the Dog Writers Association of America and the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States.

Theresa lives in Bridgewater, N.J., with her husband Louis, children Shannon, Louie, and Sean, a Ridgeback, Belgian Tervuren and Field Spaniel, two cats, two guinea pigs and one gecko.

DENISE FLAIM

Denise is the recipient two coveted Front Page awards from the Newswomen's Club of New York for her 2005 Newsday feature story on ownership disputes over rescued Katrina dogs and her 2006 "Animal House" blog entries on the search for Vivi the missing Westminster whippet.

Denise is the author of "The Holistic Dog Book" (Wiley, 2003) and "Getting Lucky: How One Dog Found Love and a Second Chance at Angel's Gate" (Stewart, Tabori and Chang, 2005). Her third book, about a group of burly, tattooed, motorcycle-riding animal rescuers called Rescue Ink, will be published this fall by Viking Press.

The historian for the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States and its former health-and-genetics chair, Denise is the president of the Nassau-Suffolk Owner Handlers Association and a founding member and a secretary of the Big Apple Sighthound Association. She breeds under the Revodana kennel prefix.

Denise lives on Long Island with her husband Fred, their 5-year-old triplets Krista, Allie and Stephen (also known as "the two-legged litter"), and four Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
